...well, there's nothing posted in this category... There's lots of great car detailing products on the market but none are as professional, thorough and well engineered as the Griots Garage product line. Check out the complete lineup here at OutMotoring.com Car Care + Detailing :: MINI Cooper Accessories : MINI Cooper Parts : OutMotoring
Good to see Griot's represented where it can do some good. I've been having fun in my garage for a couple of years now and won't use anything else.
I do like alot of their products, and some of it is relabeled stuff, but we had some problem with them last year for out National Convention. We ask many vendors for door prizes, stuffers, etc., Griot's wrote back saying " do to the economy we no longer can support car clubs" WTF, the years before they sent a 25.00 gift cert, and you know people spend way more on an order, come on??? Lame excuse IMHO. Anyway, I refuse to spend my hard earned money there anymore. Just my 2 cents.
I like Griot's products and buy them from Aaron at Outmotoring. I consider my support to be with him as a sponsor and not so much with Griot's.
I can certainly understand Griot's position with the giving out gift certificates to all the clubs that ask. While we only see it as only 25 bucks if we stand back and take a look we see there are 100's of automotive based clubs in the US. That 25 bucks is starting adding up pretty darn quick. MetroplexMINI took a different tact this year when asking vendors for stuff for our holiday party. We offered to purchase discounted gift certificates from various places. Some gave us gifts outright and others took up us on that offer. This way they still have some cash flow and we can offer our members some generous prizes at the party.
That's true, but no one else, even smaller sized vendors gave something. Just not good PR, IMHO. Since using the Prima stuff, I don't even use their stuff anymore, and I have lots on the shelf.
I often send Griots products as gifts/raffle items for the various events around the country as we get 2-4 requests a month for support. Detailing products are universal, fun to get and easy for us to send out but we often send out keychains, stickers, hats, shirts and various other items...
Griots is just up the road from me, so I buy detailing supplies at their store. They have a real cool car car museum in the store, they constantly rotate the cars through the museum, so there is always something new to look at. They give free detailing classes to car clubs, to demonstrate their products. I went there with our local MINI club and was amazed at their spray on car wash. I'd won a Griots car care starter kit in a MINI club raffle, it included the spray on car wash, but couldn't believe that it would actually work and I wouldn't use it for fear of scratching my paint. But, after seeing it demonstrated on a club member's car, at one of their detailing workshops, I went home and tried it. I've been using it ever since. Dave
I use their spray on car wash, but not if the car is to dirty. It is amazing stuff, but to much dirt is going to cause scratches. My introduction to Griots was at a detailing clinic at their Indy warehouse. They have great sales going at those events.
Outmotoring sells Prima as well. I like hydro and hydro car wash, Griots drying towels, and Griots Speed Shine. I can mix my order by getting it all from Aaron.
Father's Day was a nice surprise from my kids. They got me some speed shine and some spray on car wash. ?
