Continuing my reviews of some of my budget rebuild/refresh items I am doing on #22.

This one is not going to be as nice as my last review since these did not work for me, in short these are crap. I should've know better for the price of $35 for both.

I ordered Prime Choice Auto Parts KM1006985PR Pair of Two Front Strut Mounts from Amazon since my OEM ones were both cracked after 160k miles.

Shipping was quick even without Prime availability, this may be the only positive part of this experience.

These have sealed bearings unlike the OEM ones which were open on the bottom, which I can take or leave. My OEM ones still had grease and weren't all shot. Comes with new nuts for each side.

I replaced these when I did my front struts since I had them out already. went on okay after I hammered down the mushrooming, fit just like OEM. Center dust cap from OEM didn't fit on these so I had to trim it down.

This is where it started to go downhill, after driving on them for about 90 miles I checked under the hood and the rubber was already coming away form the bushing!!! So that laid the whip up and I requested a refund from them for a defective part. They require that I take pictures of the struts off the car BEFORE they will send me a refund. Basically, I can't take them off to take a picture of them unless I want a glorified boat anchor in the driveway until they get me a refund.

I decided to order a different set from JC Whitney so I will put those on when I take these off and then send them pictures of them off the Mini.

Installation was not hard since I had the struts out and they fit like OEM, but please do not buy these, it just makes driving dangerous.

I was reading reviews on those strut mounts on Amazon recently, and almost all of them had a significant number of failure reports. That is about when I decided that my OEM struts and everything connected to them is still fine, and there's no need to explore replacement unless I actually feel a decrease in handling. At the few miles I drive each year, that'll be a few more harvest moons before I need to get such parts.
