Up for sale is my DRIVER'S SIDE red Schroth Quick Fit harnesses for 1st gen MINIs. This is in excellent condition, never crashed or abused, used 4-5 days a year for the past few years and stored out of sunlight the rest of the time. Price for the drivers side only is $175. When new, these are $245 each. PRICE REDUCED $150!!!!! If you're not familiar with these, search and read reviews. They're awesome. Installation requires bolting in two short "pigtail" adapters to the factory front and rear seat belt attachment points (remove large torx bolt, slip on the Quick Fit adapter, replace bolt, done). Then the whole rig just clips in and out, and uses the OEM seatbelt buckle so your pretensioner still works, you get no pesky seat-belt-not-buckled warnings, etc. I'm changing up my car config and will require different Schroth harnesses. Passenger side harness has already been sold Price includes shipping in lower 48, or I can meet you in the Raleigh, NC area.' Colors in this pic are a little funky depending on what screen I view them on - they're really just plain Schroth red - not the bright pink/red like the pic.
Free bump for a great set of belts from a good guy. These are the same belts most of us run at the Dragon and other events.
I do believe with a slight modification to some plastic bits these also will work in a second generation MINI. I have no idea if they work in a 3rd generation MINI.
Thanks Nathan. True statement - a bit of plastic trimming (non structural, non-safety-related) will make them work in a 2nd gen. I'd be surprised if the belt system in 3rd gen cars was so different... but this is speculation. Someone else's photo of a modified buckle to fit the second gen Mini - you just trim a bit of plastic off the bottom edge of the harness buckle that plugs into the OEM seat belt receptacle. Mine have not had this mod... but if you buy them, you can do it!
I have a set of these as well. They really help to keep you from sloshing around in your seat. Short of going 5 point harness with cage, the best option for your MINI for stock or aftermarket seats. And they are made specifically for Gen 1 MINI so they are accepted by pretty much all the track clubs.
Wonder if they work in the fastest Mini ever built, a GPII. No backseat and therefore no back seats or seatbelts?
Are you going to just get a Black set to replace the Reds? I have a black set in very good shape if you want to trade. (only Dragon use)
Thanks for the Passenger side Paul. It's about damn time I upgrade from a CG lock. So, what are you replacing these with?
I'm putting Schroth Hybrid II six point in for the track when I'm solo, and going to try to install a used pair of Schroth Autocontrol II's I bought for HPDE / street, if I can make them work. If not, I'll do something different for the street. I'll have harness bars, so... Only reason I'm not keeping the Quick Fit is that the outside buckle interferes with the adjuster assembly on my new seats - won't peacefully coexist. Tried it a few ways and decided to punt.
I can attest to the quality of these belts as I witnessed Blimey during his best Dukes of Hazard imitation stay snug and properly in his seat as his car left the bonds of this earth for a second or two..... The condition of his shorts afterwards, thankfully I cannot attest too..
